It’s been a fibery week so far…

On Saturday Kendal and I went to a “build your skills” spinning class, taught by Barbara up at Country Yarns in Snohomish. I learned how to spin silk hankies, mohair locks, and thick and thin yarn. It was very satisfying. Whenever I am around Kendal and/or Barbara, my excitement for all that is fiber goes up exponentially. The shop is really cute and I ended up purchasing a new pile of fiber to spin…

Well, that orange merino is not new, but Pants looked so cute in the pile I had to get a shot. I have already spun up 4 oz worth of some merino/bamboo/silk in preparation for the next class. March 5th we will learn to Navajo ply! Oh the anticipation!!

On Sunday Jessica forwarded me an add she had found on craigslist, for a large trashbag of raw sheep wool….for FREE. Lucky for me, Jess is quick like a fox and I was the first person to express interest. I met a sweet lady outside of….wait for it……Country Yarns in Snohomish. What? A coincidence? Or destiny?

Who knows? Who cares??? I got a huge bag of wool waiting to become whatever myself and Kendal please!! MWAHHAHAAHAAH! Oh, and Andy couldn’t be happier…
